I know I might be persecuted for saying this, but Mondays are my favorite days of the week. I am re-energized to begin once again, and excited to sink my teeth into work I couldn’t finish last week. Of course, the credit goes to Sundays. My Sunday mornings are spent relaxing in my favorite spot (which unlike Sheldon, isn’t on the sofa)- In the balcony garden, with a cup of tea. The cat lounges on the chair besides me, or sleeps dangerously close to the teacup- on the table, as I scour through the big stack of Sunday newspapers, hunting for interesting articles.
For a few months now, I’ve been enjoying the articles by an entrepreneur that are published in Saptaranga, a weekly supplement to Sakal. I’ve been inspired by them to try my hand at writing. I never wanted to write a blog before, much less an article. Blogs sound like the things chat GPT throws out when you ask a simple question to it- summarizing information in order to bombard it on the reader, or those dreadful, barely understandable blocks of text that talk about everything other than their titles. But as an avid reader of newspaper articles, management books, fiction, & poetry, I saw thesE articles in Saptaranga and thought-
Oh, I see what you are doing! I get it! Can I try?
These are the results of jotting down some practical points to remember while managing a team- for my own reference, as well as other managers who want to compare notes, and first-time managers who are coping with their new responsibilities- navigating the untested waters of leadership & management without much training or guidance.
But I may also write about other topics that are closest to my heart, things I am thinking about; such as business growth, sustainability, and my life’s work: EFL. I may share about my experiences and opinions- as a woman in the corporate sector, as an entrepreneur, as a human being.
These aren’t the right answers, they are not pieces of advice either. They are my thoughts, attempts & trials at communicating what’s on my mind. So here goes nothing!
